Welcome!
It's October and for us that means the start of the holiday season. This month ushers in Halloween. A time for pumpkins and pumpkin bread, beautiful fall foliage, and cooler temperatures. I love this time of year!
This month I've included a little bit of everything in this newsletter. I've included an article about Halloween crafts that my kids have tried and really enjoyed. Next, there is an article about business success that I feel can be applied to everyone's life in general not necessarily a business. The last article really spoke to me as a stay at home mome. It's entitled, "Ladies, Lose the Guilt". I hope you enjoy them all. Please feel free to email me with any feedback or comments you have.
Have a wonderful month!

Halloween Craft Projects for Kids |
Fall means more inside time for the little ones. Naturally, they're going to need something fun and creative to keep them busy. Help your kids prepare for Halloween by constructing these adorable craft projects! They're easy and fun to make and the kiddos will love displaying them for the holiday.
Egg Carton Spiders
What you will need:
Cardboard egg carton
Pipe cleaners
Poster paint
Elastic thread
Something to poke small holes
Instructions:
Cut the egg cups out of a cardboard egg carton. Cut pipe cleaners into 3 inch sections. To make each spider, poke four pipe cleaners through each cup sideways. Bend the ends to look like eight spider legs. Paint the spiders black or in any wildly creative way you want! After the paint has dried, attach a length of elastic thread to the middle of each spider. Have fun holding your thread and bouncing your scary spider up and down as you take it for a walk!
Plastic Bag Ghost
What you'll need:
White plastic trash bags
Black marker
Balloons
Some string
Scissors
Masking tape
Instructions:
Blow up/inflate the balloons and cover each one with a trash bag. With the string, gather and tie each bag under the balloon to make a head. Using your markers, draw a spooky face on the trash bag. Be as creative as you can-make a scary face or a funny face. Whatever you want! Attach a piece of string to the top of your ghosts and display them all around your house and yard.

Little Known Facts About Your Business Success |
Here are eight little known - or little used - secrets to business success. Although around for decades these secrets are still good today:
1. Take 100% Responsibility for Your Life - In a society where people blame everything from their parents to the government for failure, those who don't buy into this mentality or succumb to the "victim" thinking succeed. To blame something or somebody outside yourself is saying they have control of your life and not you. Someone else's opinion of you doesn't have to become your reality.
2. Live Your Life On Purpose - What separates motivational thinkers from the unsuccessful is that they believe they're doing what they were put here to do. The difference between this and just living, is that the latter is just getting through the week with the least problems. But when you live your life on purpose, your main concern is doing the job right. For the entrepreneur this means finding a cause you believe in and building your business around it.
3. Be Willing to Pay the Price - Be willing to pay the price for your dreams. Wanting a big house, a luxury car, and a million dollars in the bank is all very nice, and everyone wants these things - but are you willing to pay the price to get them? This is one of the major differences between the successful and unsuccessful.
4. Stay Focused - Every day we're bombarded with hundreds of tasks, phone calls, messages, and everyone competing for our time. Focusing requires giving up something in the present because you are investing your time in something that will pay off big-time down the road. Jack Canfield and Mark Hanson were turned down by 30 publishers when they submitted the first "Chicken Soup for the Soul" book. Instead of giving up, they stayed focused on their goal and did four or five interviews per day for radio, TV, and newspapers, for five days a week for a whole year. Eventually, a small publisher decided to take a chance, and of course now it's a best-seller that spawned an entire series that have sold more than 10 million copies.
5. Become An Expert in Your Field - One striking factor all successful people have in common is how seriously they take their profession. They strive to be the best at what they do, and do almost anything to improve. If someone followed you around all day with a video camera at your business, would it be a tape you'd be proud of or embarrassed about? Make the decision today to work at being the best in your field. How? By finding out what the "best" in your field are doing, and do what they do.
6. Write Out a Plan for Achieving Your Goals - Write out an action plan/map for how you're going to achieve your goals. Trying to reach your goals without a plan is like trying to drive from Los Angeles to Chicago without a map. A goal that isn't written down is merely a wish or fantasy.
7. Never Give Up - Never, never, never give up. When you're fully committed to achieving your goal, giving up is not an option. You must be willing do whatever it takes to make it happen. The power of perseverance is an awesome force. As someone once said, "inch by inch it's a cinch". Think of the lowly inchworm - if it pondered the length of the trip from start to finish before it started, it probably would never move. To a worm's point-of-view, the garden path must look like a trip to Mars. Never give up! Keep on going like the Eveready battery bunny, and pretty soon you're there.
8. Don't Delay - Nobody knows how much time they have left to accomplish their dreams, and we must remember that we don't have forever. The clock is ticking, and sooner or later your number comes up and you're gone. Successful achievers know this too, but they don't view it as a "negative". Achievers use it to "spur them on". They go after what they want as energetically and as passionately as possible, for as long as they have.
Try to follow this for three months and see your business success grow.

Ladies, Lose the Guilt! |
It's time we women said, "Enough guilt!" What exactly are we trying to measure up to anyway?
This may come as news to you, but you will never get fully
caught up on everything. There will always be something more to get done or something more you could do. Just look at your kitchen and tell me you don't know this already!
When is what you've done "enough"? How can you get past the guilt that raises its ugly head? The answer lies in discovering what you're trying to prove.
* Proving Your Worth *
For many women, we are trying to prove our worth as a woman. We're trying to prove our worth to men, to employers, to our children and even to other women who are caught in the same vicious cycle.
It shouldn't come as a surprise since we live in a world
known for oppressing women. In some ways, we have been
programmed to see our value based on our productivity. The
good thing is that this lie is beginning to have some
critical cracks, ensuring its destruction.
The sad thing is that we women haven't quite believed the truth about ourselves. When our self esteem is feeling a
little low, what do we do? We tend to try to prove our value by what we do instead. Sound familiar?
The problem comes when we discover women are humans, like
everyone else. Humans simply aren't perfect and we definitely have limitations. What happens when we simply
can't do all the jobs presented to us? What happens when
we're spread too thin to do a great job in every area? You
guessed it GUILT!
The other problem is the source of where we're looking for
approval. When we look outside of ourselves for our sense of value, we give others permission to decide our worth for us. That's a scary place to put ourselves in!
* You Decide Your Value *
What if the person to whom you have to prove your worth is
actually you? You see your girlfriends as valuable so why
would your value be any different? When you choose to Believe you are good enough as you already are, guilt will
begin to lose its strangling grip.
You are a being of choice. As such, you are the one who
chooses your value. What price tag would you like to put on yourself? As you go higher in value, the effect of guilt lessens.
* Change Your Thinking *
You are a good enough, but you have to choose to believe it. You are not a failure and you have incredible value. You really have nothing to measure up to when you've recognized your own unique worth.
How you feel is up to you. You choose what your thoughts are and your thoughts affect your feelings. Guilt is simply just another feeling. Therefore, it stands to reason that to lose the guilt, you must change your thinking.
Guilt will drain you. On the flip side, positive thoughts
may energize you. Start by saying "NO!" to negative thoughts. Replace them with positive ones. You're smart,
you'll figure out which positive ones have the greatest
effect on you.
* Begin with Decision *
Every action begins with decision. Decide what you need to
do to get inspired about your value. Do you need to remind
yourself you are beautiful and smart? Does doing something
else tell you you're valuable? Then do it! Set the intention to accept the truth: you have incredible worth and you have nothing to prove.
Choose not to let your productivity determine your value and toss that guilt off the side of a cliff!
