The itchy, watery eyes, scratchy throat, cough, stuffy nose and don't forget the headaches. To help those who suffer from allergies feel a little better. Here are 8 things you can do to help reduce allergens in your home. 1. Air filters - Start with the air you breathe. Make sure all the vents are clean. Also check to make sure the air filters that are part of your heating and cooling systems are changed every month. Try using the ones specifically made for reducing allergens. 2. Dust Often - Make sure you dust frequently. Things like books, knick knacks, picture frames, etc. are major dust collectors which could be triggering your sneezes. 3. Get Rid of Carpet - Get rid of some of your carpet if you can and switch to hardwood floors, laminates or tile. It's a well known fact that pet dander, sand, dirt, dust all collect in carpets. 4. Vacuum and Sweep Daily - Clean with a high powered vacuum cleaner frequently to help keep dust and other allergens to a minimum. 5. Wash Bedding in Hot Water - Washing your bedding in hot water each week will help limit dust mites. While your bedding is being washed try vacuuming your mattress to get that really clean. 6. Wash Curtains Regularly - Dust and cobwebs can settle on your curtains if you don't dust and wash them regularly. Many people save this task for spring cleaning, but if you have allergies you will want to do it more frequently. 7. Clean with Bleach - Take some ordinary household bleach mixed with water and wipe down your house. Wipe down the walls, door knobs, light switches, railings, basically all the areas people touch. 8. Use Some Chalk - Chalk is great at absorbing moisture from the air. Simply place a couple pieces of chalk in places where you've found mildew to help stop it from reoccurring. This should relieve some symptoms for mold/mildew allergy sufferers. Whether you suffer from allergies caused by mold, mildew, pet dander, dust or something else these easy tasks will limit the amount of particles in your home. Take turns with your friends purchasing new movies and then have everyone over to watch it. Offer popcorn and sodas. Turn all the lights down and relax. If you don't want to buy the movies - rent them from your local library or rental place. Tip of the Month Place a container of sunscreen right by your front door. That way when you're leaving the house you will see the sunscreen and remember to put some on. Great Site http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/shavattk I love this site. It is just a search engine.
